Year 2

Welcome to Year 2!

Your Class Teachers are Mrs Sankey in 2SA, and Miss Sutherland in 2SU.

Our Topic for this half term is 'Living in the Past: The Victorians'.

During this half term the children will learn all about Queen Victoria and the Victorian era. We will look at the differences between rich and poor, toys - then and now, school life and education. The children will also look at timelines and discuss key aspects of the Victorian era.

The children will develop their research skills using both I-Pads and a range of non-fiction books.

In Science we will be learning about living things and their habitats, so when you are out and about or walking to and from school see if you can spot any creatures and where they live. We will be looking at living things, things that have died and things that were never alive. we will also be looking at life cycles and animal groups such as carnivores, herbivores and omnivores.

PE Days

PE Days are Mondays and Wednesdays for 2SA and 2SU.

Please ensure long hair is tied back and any earrings are removed on these days. It is helpful if girls wearing tights have a spare pair of socks in their PE Bags.

Please make sure all of your child's clothing is named, especially jumpers and cardigans which they take off during the day.
